SPRING CLASSES

BOOKWORMS

Mondays

3:45pm-4:30pm

In our Bookworms Program, Miss Candy will have our students identifying letters, sounds, sight words, and literacy concepts to help promote early reading and writing readiness. Students will learn how to incorporate the high-frequency words that are found in most structures of a sentence. Words such as it, and, I, this, at, etc are words we like to call popcorn words. When early readers gain these skills, reading becomes a reality. We will also present the beginning, middle, and ending of a story. Using sentence strips, repetitive words and sentences will give our students extra support for a reading experience. This program will give our students a strong foundation for phonemic awareness and writing.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS!

Tuesdays

3:45pm-4:30pm

For our aspiring artists, Miss Lori has a unique program that will have our students learning different techniques of artistic expression. Each artist will have the opportunity to be inspired and creative as they delve into paint, clay, decoupage, mosaic tiles, and many more art concepts. This program encourages each child to explore and express their own unique creativity.

Math Magic!

Wednesdays

3:45pm-4:30pm

In Miss Candy’s Math Magic program students will sort, graph, estimate, learn numerical order and begin to add and subtract. Our students will learn these concepts through hands-on manipulative, games, puzzles, abacus’ and visual presentations. Through our math program, the children will learn that everything in their daily life can be counted and measured by numbers. We have planned a very age-appropriate and fun program that will challenge and engage children to learn.

Extreme STEAM Science Kids

Thursdays

3:45pm-4:30pm

(Children must be 3+ years old in order to participate in this class.)

Our Rockin’ Robotics program is designed to introduce young minds to the concept of programming and robotics through fun, age-appropriate hands-on learning. Over the course of this program, children will meet and learn how to program Park Shore’s robots. The children will be introduced to the concept of robotics and programming by using directional languages such as arrows and commands to move robots through mazes and various challenges. Legos, blocks, and other tools will be used to inspire creativity while learning about basic programming sequencing. iPads and art supplies will be incorporated as part of the curriculum to add another dimension to their interactive learning experience.

In Science, Miss Kathy will keep our little scientists busy mixing, predicting, designing, and making hypotheses and conclusions on many different experiments. In addition to our science program, our students will also be able to visit our cave and learn about the different habitats that live in the Extreme STEAM Science Building.

Fun With Food!

Fridays

3:45pm-4:30pm

Bringing kids into the kitchen can hone in on some basic skills, such as math, science, and yes even art. Our little chefs will create fun and adventurous snacks with the help of Miss Taneisha. This program will also help explore their senses and encourage them to try new foods.
