Preschool is the perfect time to start learning a second language! With this program our students will develop a foundation for lifelong success in Spanish. The students will be exposed to basic Spanish words and vocabulary using many different resources to make this learning experience fun and exciting. Learning a new language should be fun and natural and the more exposure to Spanish, the better a child’s motivation and desire to learn will grow.
Education experts have found that there are many benefits to children learning in another language at a young age, including:
- Increased literacy
- Increased cognitive flexibility
- Bolstering of self-esteem and wellbeing
- Increase in test scores in core subjects
- Boost in cross-cultural understanding
*Please note that an intermediate Spanish Academic Adventures class will be offered in the Spring. You must attend the winter session to advance to intermediate Spanish class. The introductory Spanish class will also be offered in the Spring.

Music can also help children develop cognitive skills including counting, patterning, sequencing, receptive language and phonemic awareness. This program will also incorporate instruments and other props that will help with physical skills such as strengthening their balance and fine motor coordination.

Our Book Worms Program will have our students identifying letters, sounds, sight words, and literacy concepts to help promote early reading and writing readiness. Students will learn how to incorporate the high frequency words that are found in most structures of a sentence. Words such as: it, and, I, this, at, etc are words we like to call popcorn words. When early readers gain these skills, reading becomes a reality. We will also present the beginning, middle, and ending of a story. Using sentence strips, repetitive words and sentences will give our students extra support for a reading experience. This program will give our students a strong foundation for phonemic awareness and writing.
