Dear Bob and Chuck, I felt the need to write to you and thank you for funding the Robotics Team at Long Island’s Half Hollow Hills, High School West. My son is on his way to Virginia with the Robotics team to compete in the Regionals. This would not have been possible without your support and the donation of $25,000 that you presented to Half Hollow Hills School District earlier this year. In this economy, school districts have had to cut back and eliminate many different programs and the Robotics team might have been part of the budget cuts. The young boys on this team, my son included, are very dedicated to this club and put many evening and weekend hours into the production of the robot. Again, let me stress my sincere thanks for giving my son, as well as other children in our district, the ability to continue in this endeavor and go on to the Regionals as planned.
My 2 year old daughter LOVES coming to Park Shore Country Day School. She started in Miss Gina’s class this September as a shy child and has blossomed in just a few short months. She’s now learning to share with her friends, painting with her favorite color, and even counting from 1-10 in English and Spanish! The staff is loving and compassionate with each of the children and I couldn’t ask for a better place for my daughter to have her first learning experiences.

My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our daughter’s experience at Park Shore Day Camp and School. Lauren always comes home and tells us how much fun she had at school every day. She is always excited about the projects the class produces and loves her teachers. Which, by the way, she talks about all of the time. Her teachers couldn’t be more caring or more enthusiastic to work with her. Also, the educational content that she is being taught is phenomenal. For example, one week she was telling us about metamorphosis at the age of 2 1/2! In all, Park Shore is a wonderful place for children and I am constantly recommending it to my friends and family as a place to send their children. Sincerely, The Maniotis Family

I have been coming to Park Shore for the past six years as an independent contractor providing speech therapy services. I have always found everyone at Park Shore, including the teachers, assistant teachers, directors and office staff to be interested in each and every child. They consistently foster the social, emotional and intellectual development of the students. They create a nurturing, happy place in which communicative skills grow.

Thank you for running such a fine day care operation that truly values children as individuals, with unique abilities and needs. We are forever indebted for the jump-start you have granted both of our children, who were polar opposites in more ways than one, throughout these critically important formative years. My son and daughter confidentially entered Kindergarten well equipped with a strong social and academic foundation that clearly derived from the understanding of expectations a 21st century elementary aged student would be confronted with. Park Shore’s Science and Technology programs generated excitement towards learning that didn’t come to a halt at the close of a school day. Together, we frequently explored areas of concentration that our children brought to our attention by logging onto a website, checking out a book from our local library, or simply engaging in a hands on investigation of our own backyard. Additionally, when feasible, we duplicated simple Science experiments they were exposed to during their visit to Park Shore’s Science Lab. The inquiry based learning that transpired from day one, hooked my preschool aged children, resulting in a deeper love towards learning in general. My children were beyond prepared to enter Kindergarten and now view the world with a much wider lens. The Giamalvo Kids will always be proud to say their roots stem from the programs and people who make Park Shore Country Day School and Camp such an unbelievable home away from home.
